Quick and Easy Fish Fillet Recipes for Any Kind of Fish
Baking Fish Fillets
I am going to share 3 different methods of cooking fish, that are good for fish pretty much no matter what they are. I will be showing ideas for baking, microwaving, and pan frying your fish. One pound of fish fillets will make about 2 or 3 servings.
Baking Fish Fillets
Ingredients:
One pound of fish
Sea Salt
Cracked peppercorns
Bread crumbs or cracker crumbs or crushed dry cereal
2 tablespoons oil or margarine or butter
1/2 teaspoon of your favorite herbs for fish, like tarragon, dill, oregano, rosemary, marjoram or thyme
Lemon Wedges
Directions:
Place your fish in a baking dish that has been greased a little, to avoid sticking. Season your fish with the salt and pepper. Combine the bread crumbs with 2 tablespoons of or butter or margarine and one teaspoon of herb seasonings. Old Bay Seasonings, has a great blend. Sprinkle the crumb mixture over your fish. Bake at 425 for about 15 to 20 minutes, or until the fish begins to flake.
Serve with lemon wedges, which adds a great flavor.
Microwaving your Fish
Microwaving your fish can be so easy, that will want to probably do it fairly often. If done right, you get a wonderful dinner or meal in no time. Great for anyone in a hurry, that doesn't want to spend a lot of time in the kitchen. Yet you still get the big benefit of eating healthy fish.
Ingredients:
One pound of your favorite fish
2 tablespoons of melted butter or margarine.
Herb seasoning like Old Bay Seasoning, salt, pepper, and paprika. Other herb seasoning possibilities are tarragon, dill, oregano, rosemary, marjoram or thyme. I also always add a dash of cayenne.
sliced lemon wedges
Directions:
Place your fish in a microwavable dish. Drizzle it with 2 tablespoons of butter or margarine. Season with your salt, pepper and herbs. Microwave on high for 3-5 minutes, or until fish begins to flake.
Let stand for 5 minutes or so. Serve with lemon wedges. Its almost too easy!
Pan frying your fish
Whatever fish you happen to have or catch, you can always pan fry it for good results.
Ingredients:
One tablespoon of oil
One clove of minced garlic, I like to use my garlic press for this
Chopped green onions
1/2 teaspoon of any of the following herbs: Tarragon, Dill, Oregano, Rosemary, Marjoram or Thyme
Lemon
Directions: Heat up one tablespoon of oil in your skillet on medium heat. Cook your minced garlic in the oil, as well as 2 green chopped onions, and 1/2 teaspoon of your seasoning for about one minute. Add your fish and cook it for 5 minutes. Turn fish over and cook again for 5-6 minutes or until fish flakes. Serve with lemon and your favorite side dishes.
