Vintage Easter Bunny Cards

Easter

Every year, I just love Easter time. A lot of it may have to do with the fact that spring is either around the corner or is already showing itself all around in the flowers and trees, etc. I do also like what Easter symbolizes in a spiritual sense as well, as I am a believer in Jesus.

This article however has a rather narrow focus, that being Easter bunny cards! Not just any Easter bunny cards mind you, but rather vintage style, or old fashioned Easter bunny cards. I just love these and their counterparts that were made so long ago. Every holiday has cards like these, just about. There is something about the old fashioned design and sense that they give off that I just love.

Many are pastels, which works perfect for Easter as we often are thinking of pastels this time of year, whether they be in flowers, or in the Easter eggs we decorate.

Ideas for your own Easter cards

These images are able to be used for your personal use if you like. I have seen them used in cards, and on gift bags, tags and more. What I do is simply save the image to my computer. From there, you simply take the steps necessary to get to the point of printing the image off.

I then take scissors or a paper cutter and cut the image to what I want to use. I do this part very carefully and take my time, so that I don't have to reprint it. Using decorative scissors can be a great way to have some "forgiveness" on crooked cuts.

If you are careful with the adhesive you use, you don't need heavy cardstock. If you put a lot of glue for instance, on the top of a card, then lay this image over it, it will warp and get bumpy perhaps. A very thin smear of glue is better, and even better than that is two sided tape which I use a lot for cards.

Embellishing your card

If you do make a card out of these or similar images, you can use silk ribbons, buttons, stickers, glitter and more to embellish your card even further. That said, sometimes the "less is more" idea comes into play with these, and the images work great on their own. I have seen people use these in coordination with rubber stamps as well. For instance, these images can go on the outside of the card, and on the inside I stamp the words, Happy Easter, or something like that.

As for which of these are my favorite, well that is a bit harder to decide! I like them all for their own reasons really. The one with the bunny dad and the wheelbarrow with the eggs and young bunnies is really very cute I think.

Please note, that you can click on some these images to make them a little larger if you like.

I hope you enjoy these few Easter bunny images as I did. They kind of take me back to a by gone era, so the nostalgia is kind of fun. Happy Easter!
