Multi Colored Flower Blossoms - A Gallery

Flowers with blooms containing more than one color
This hub is a small gallery of photos of some flowers that contain more than one color (sometimes more than two colors!) within one bloom. I am a lover of flowers of all kinds. Having a bouquet of different colors of flowers is a heart warming thing to observe. I often like to grow several different colors of flowers within one garden.
What about celebrating those flowers that contain multiple colors within one bloom? They can almost be a rainbow of colors all in themselves! Also, I am seeing more new varieties of flowers out there, that they have applied some science and create a multicolored effect in the result. If you have ever received gardening catalogues, especially rose and flowers seed catalogues, you will see new and old varieties of multi colored flowers on the market. There is some engineering going on, and some people out there that are more purists may not like that fact. Others, with their purchases however, show that they like these effects that have been achieved with some "engineering." What do you think? I think it is ok as long as we don't lose our classics, as I think that would be somewhat dangerous to do.
Photo 1 - A magenta, or maroon and white dahlia flower. While white may not be considered a color, I am using it as such in this case. There are times I seek out white flowers for certain parts of my garden. I thought this dahlia was pretty and I hope to grow some in my own garden one day. It has been a long time since I grew dahlias, but I grew some bright yellow ones before.
Photo 2 - This is an unknown flower to me, but there are at least three colors that I can identify. Red, purple and white are the main colors, and it makes for such an interesting flower, in my opinion.
Photo 3 - You can see some strawflowers on the left in this photo, as well as some yellow daisies on the right. The flowers on the left are what I want to focus on here. There is like a lovely set of colors in the flowers, that remind me of a sunset perhaps. Very cheerful and warm colors here. The yellows, oranges, reds and whites make them a fun and lovely little flower.
Photo 4 - The Lantana flower. This flower has yellow, oranges and bright pinks in the flower. Such a cheerful specimen, just seeming to wait for its next visitor whether a butterfly, bee or admiring human perhaps.
Photo 5 - The pretty pansy flower. This flower has some periwinkle blues and purples in the flower. They are so lovely combined with yellows and oranges in the distance. If you look, you will be amazed at how many different colors there are in different pansy flowers.
Photo 6 - The lovely fuschia flower. These flowers are great in hanging baskets. These have a bright hot pink colors in the flowers, along with deep blues and purples.
I hope to add more to this little collection over time. Make sure to stop back by when you can. Thanks for taking a moment to tour the flower garden.

Really beautiful images here , voted up.
Amazing photographs, you managed to capture Natures splendor.
I love the Dahlia, They put on such a beautiful show. I don't like the maintenance, the blooms get so big and heavy, you have to stake and tie them and sometime it takes away from the beauty of the plant. Just a slight gust of wind or a heavy shower will destroy it's beauty in a blink of an eye, but I still grow them as often as I can, I just keep getting more creative with the way I stake them. Nice hub oceansnsunsets, great pictures, voted up and beautiful.
Great read and pictures. I voted you up and beautiful.
Beautiful collection. It's amazing how nature has a way of pairing colors--even gaudy becomes beautiful. Awesome.
The infinite number of combinations of colors and shapes in flowers is one of life's greatest pleasures. Thanks for spreading some pleasure with your lovely photos of some of nature's natural beauties.
