Gallery of Colorful Flower Gardens - Garden Design Ideas

Colorful Flower Gardens have been a joy for centuries to people everywhere. I have always loved flower gardens from as far back as I can remember. This love has never ended, maybe even grown over time. I love to grow my own flowers, and also enjoy going to botanical gardens whenever I can.
This hub is a gallery of photos showing some different examples of colorful flowers in different seasons and showing different designs. I hope you enjoy.
Photo 1 - I included this photo because it shows such a unique way of displaying color in flowers. Using hanging baskets of chrysanthemums for example, you can get quite an array of flowers. These are off to the side in the photo, but show what color can do to draw your eye in.
Photo 2 - If you look closely, there are up to five different kinds of flowers in this garden display. I loved the unique color combination used here. It worked wonderfully. Garden designers are great at matching up colors in flowers that can bloom all at the same time, be at different heights, and also coordinate well together. This is an example of such a display and why I loved it. It was rather large, very beautiful!
Photos 3 - 6 - These show different sections of a large, blooming Iris garden in the Spring. I absolutely loved seeing their many different irises they had blooming. It was as if every color in the rainbow was represented almost, with the different variations on each. Such a joy to walk through the curvy paths in this display. These were taken at the Missouri Botanical Garden in Saint Louis.
Photo 7 - Dahlias and gladiolus flowers and more are shown in this colorful display. I haven't grown much in the way of dahlia's and gladiolus myself, though I do love them. We had some bright red gladiolus come up in the front yard one year after we moved in our house. When they get enough water, they bloom every year. So nice! That is is the extent of my personal growing of gladiolus, but I can't take credit because I didn't plant them. I hope to plant more in the future.
Photo 8 - Cannas are tall and beautiful flowers that I just love. There are red, orange and yellow ones here, such a lovely, warm display I think. They have such a tropical feel to them!
Photo 9 - A path taking you into a flower garden. I wouldn't mind this in my own backyard!
Photo 10 - These roses are a little bit in the distance, but you can see the color from this rose garden if you look closely, and click on the image. I love roses, always have. In my own garden, I am learning to grow them more in the Midwest, which is a totally different ballgame than California!
Photo 11 - A favorite colorful garden, I absolutely love the vibrant and warm colors of zinnias! These seem to be planted perfectly, to allow for such a mass of color. The purple flowers in the background, just a little bit taller, really framed this garden well, I thought.
Photo 12 - Potted Geraniums, Begonias, and red crown of thorn flowers are some that are blooming in this indoor patio garden. The fountain and the tiles look so nice I thought. This is inside a temperate house at the Botanical Garden as well.
These gardens were an inspiration to me in regards to planning in the future for my gardens. Some things to do, not to do, or what I want to do a bit differently. I hope you maybe got some ideas of your own from looking at these.
** Its no wonder artists over the ages, have tried to capture flowers in their art. Whether in a vase, garden, or any kind of display, it is inspirational to people.

What beautiful photos! I wish I had a talent to grow a flower garden, but it was my sisters that inherited the green thumbs. I love standing in the gardens and smelling the flowers. They are so beautiful. You have a wonderful way of capturing that in your photos. Thanks for sharing them.
