Fountains
Fountains are beautiful and fun to look at very often, but also can be very functional as well. Each fountain is really a work of art that has been created. Sometimes we don't even get to see who made the fountain or contributed to it in any way, but its a joy to enjoy them all the same.
Here I share with you some different fountains that I have come across. Thinking back, there are more that I never thought to get a photo of that were really neat. Just another reminder for me to keep my camera with me more often.
Below you will see a collection from classical, classy to whimsical and plain fun. I love them all, and have already told myself to be careful of saying several are my "favorite."
Photos of Fountains
Photo 1 - This fountain is just fantastic, in my opinion. I truly love it, as it has these 3 large fish with tails in the air and curving around. I couldn't believe what a cool fountain I had come across the first time I saw it. I love anything having to do with water, so a fountain with fish included in it really great, in my opinion.
Photo 2 - This is a very large fountain as you are entering the Missouri Botanical Garden. To me, its a typical and fun fountain.
Photo 3 - This fountain is one of my favorites, hands down. There is only a little bit of water coming out of each pitcher on each side of the angel, but it is still a fountain. I love that you can see what appears to be some kind of creatures at the angel's feet. It is a large, really neat fountain.
Photo 4 - In downtown Saint Louis, there is a huge park called Forest Park. This is a very large pond with several fountains within it. Its a really cool fountain, not all that far from the Art Museum there.
Photo 5 - This is a totally different kind of fountain, with water coming up out of the middle of it and flowing all around the edges of it. Its a really sweet little fountain.
Photo 6 - This is a classy fountain, with a curve to match the surrounding rose garden. I thought it was beautiful and simple, but classy.
Photo 7 - This fountain is one of the most curious to me. It seems to be a flock of birds flying, which is really cool. There are two bowls or something on either side. This is one that I would like to find out more about.
Photo 8 - This one is so playful and fun with otters playing in the fountain. I love this idea, its one of the most fun fountains I have ever seen.
Photo 9 - This is a circular fountain also, that has water coming up, seemingly out of the ground. It's very fun for the kids to play in, when its hot in the Summer.
Photo 10 - Another animal fountain that I just love. Its three geese seeming to play in the water. Very fun!
Photo 11 - This fountain is in a super beautiful setting, in my opinion, though its just the shape of a bird bath really. Its much more complex than that, and this may be my very favorite. Its like a courtyard setting, and so beautiful in this area.
Photo 12 - This one is another fun animal one, with two beautiful peacocks. Its a really neat effect.
* I have always liked fountains, but until I saw more over time like these above, I never had any idea how creative they could get. Its so much fun to see how artistic a person can be with a fountain creation.

Beautiful. Have you seen Carl Milles Orpheus fountain at Cranbrook? It's the most beautiful one I've ever seen. Here's a link to some pictures of it.
Good hub. I love the fountain with the strange birds and water saucers on the side.
I have a little fountain in my garden. I love the sound of the water. Great Hub (again!)
I think I like nmber 11 best.
Number 8 & 12 are my favorites. So different from what I've seen. Great pic and hub!
Great pictures of fountains. I have a collection of small ones. My favorite is a large lily pad bowl and on one side of it there is a seesaw made from a stick and two lily pads. There are children on the seesaw lily pads and when the water drops from the top lily pad onto the seesaw lily pads, the seesaw goes up and down.
Great photos of Beautiful fountains! I like #9

oceansunsets,
As a self proclaimed water person who adores most everything with water - this is sensational! Water is an active element that affects not just our sight but the movement and the sound and the smell. Thank you for a delightful presentation.
