Easy Recipes for Mahi Mahi
Easy ways to prepare a great fish
Mahi Mahi are also known as dolphin fish, and are surface dwellers. They are among the fastest growing fish. They live in temperate, tropical and sub tropical off shore areas. These fish go by many names, but the Mahi Mahi is the Hawaiian version. I like to order it when I can, and if you should ever have some Mahi Mahi, here are some easy ideas to prepare them. Hope you enjoy!
Stir Frying Mahi Mahi
Ingredients:
2 tablespoons of Terriyaki sauce
Oil for wok
Chopped carrots
Chopped celery
Choped green onions
Cooked rice
Directions:
Cut your Mahi Mahi into one inch pieces, and place them in a shallow glass Pyrex dish. Pour your teriyaki sauce over them.
Next, heat your oil in the wok, just one tablespoon and put it over medium heat. Stir fry one cup of carrots, and the celery, and the onions for about 2 minutes or so.
Next, add your fish and stir fry that until it is opaque looking, which will be about three to four minutes.
Serve over cooked rice, and you are done! How easy and healthy, I just love it.
Pan Frying your Mahi Mahi
Ingredients:
Mahi Mahi filets
Oil or melted butter or margarine
Lemon Pepper
Garlic Pepper
Seasoned Pepper
Lemon and/or Lime wedges
Directions: Coat your Mahi Mahi with the butter or margarine, then sprinkle on your choice of peppers above. I actually like to use all three, but it may be too peppery for some people. I even add a dash of cayenne always to almost all my fish.
Heat your skillet to medium high, and cook your fish for four to minutes. Turn the fish over, and cook another five to six minutes until the fish is opaque looking.
Serve with lemon and/or lime, and your favorite herb sprig for a lovely garnish.
Grilling Mahi Mahi
Ingredients:
Crushed pineapple, with juice
Two tablespoons of oil
Two tablespoons of teriyaki sauce
One quarter teaspoon of ground ginger
One tablespoon of honey
One quarter teaspoon of garlic powder
Directions:
Place your Mahi Mahi in a shallow glass dish. Combine the crushed pineapple with its juice, oil, teriyaki sauce, ginger, honey and garlic powder. Let this stand at least 30 minutes or so. I like to keep it refrigerated.
Cook your Mahi Mahi on a hot and oiled grill for about five to six minutes. Carefully turn over, and cook for another five to six minutes until fish is opaque. Enjoy your fish!
