Best Italian Markets in Southern California, USA

I love good italian food, and as much fun as it is to go out and eat on occasion, I love to find great Italian ingredients to make my own meals sometimes.  Often, I need a place to go to pick up a treat to take for the host and hostess that is hosting an event or I just want to bring a little something extra to a celebration.

I have found a few great Italian Markets where I can find what I need and I tend to go back again and again to Claro's especially.  Try out these great little Italian Markets the next chance you get and you will not be disappointed.

Claro's, my very favorite

I just love Claro's Italian Market in Tustin California. There are more locations than just this one so keep an eye out for those as well, such as in La Habra.

My family has been going to this little market for many years. It is perfect for picking up some extra sausage from mild to spicy to add to your spaghetti sauces or other meals. The staff there is friendly and helpful, and there is a family atmosphere almost always which I love. We also have gone there for cookies, pastries, and all kinds of other yummy baked goods. This has become a little tradition in our family to go there, and let the kids pick out their favorites or whatever looks good to them. They will pack up all the treats in a box, and we usually have them with milk and fresh coffee or whatever sounds good at the moment.

At a Christmas gathering, we often will pick up some more fancy of the baked items like cannolis cream puffs, cakes and take them with us. We cut them up into smaller portions so more people can try all the diffferent ones they have to offer.

As for the meats and cheeses in the deli there, you can't find fresher and tastier anywhere. I always feel very confident that I am getting the best when I go there.

You can purchase all kinds of tomato pastes and sauces, but I also especially like the olive oil there, as well as olives, and breads and garlic. You can find many items to purchase that make a quick meal at home.   There are many beverages to buy and take home as well, like beers, wines, soda, etc.  Try Claro's sometime, I don't think you will be disappointed.

Sorrento's Italian Market

Sorrento's is a great Italian market as well, and they have a great selection there of all kinds of great Italian items. They are especially known for their great sandwiches! You will not be disappointed. From pastas, breads, cheeses to tomatoes you will find the great variety you are looking for. Some of my top recommendations from here is the marinara sauce, olives, olive oil, wines, and the secret sauce on the sandwiches. They have an olive oil that is Albert's own, and is made from the olives grown in the area. (Vera Ranch in Northern California). There are many imported wines to choose from. If ever in the area, do go and try it.  The best meals start with the best ingredients and this is a top notch market to get what you need.

Eastside Market & Italian Deli

Eastside is a good market and Deli if you are in the Los Angeles area of Southern California. You will find a full menu there brimming with amazing food. They have many varieties of cold and hot sandwiches and also cater for all your serving needs. As for recommendations, I would try the pastrami sandwiches, as well as the meatball sandwich. Whether roast beef, or sausage, the marinara drenched sandwiches are to die for. Its a place the local law enforcement workers love to go. Its never a surprise to see policemen and firemen there for their own lunch times.

This is a casual place you can go, and they even have outdoor seating which I really like. Claro's doesn't offer this, as their food is carry out.   When looking for quality ingredients to purchase, try Eastside as it comes highly recommended.
